Carol is so much more verbal than Emma was at this age- you can have whole (nonsense) conversations with her. Sometimes, as this video will show, she'll just talk to ....anything! But like her big sister, she loves music and will start dancing easily! In this video, she first just jabbers away and then starts dancing to the music from her car (lovingly called Beep-Beep by its first owner, Emma Rose)

Peek-a-boo! (x2)
Like I mentioned in a previous post, Carol loves to play peek-a-boo! Here's another peek-a-boo moment provided by Miss Carol Joy Montgomery!

Monkey Bars!
It has been fun to watch each spring/summer to see what new skill Emma picks up at the playground. Last fall, it was sliding down the pole and climbing the little rock wall. This spring so far it has been the monkey bars! Look how well she is doing!
And also some pictures!
Pretty amazing for a little girl who still has wires in her breastbone!

Peek-a-boo!
Carol LOVES to play peek-a-boo. We don't remember Emma playing it that much, but you can get Carol started almost anytime. She plays peek-a-boo around a corner, under a blanket (as she did on the changing table today!)...even behind my laptop screen as I type!
In February (that would make Carol 10 months old) we caught Carol playing peek-a-boo with her daddy while he was in the bathtub. I situated myself in the closet so not to disturb the game while also only getting only Carol on the video. :) (Daniel gave me permission to post this...it's just too cute!)

Carol Joy is Ten...Make that Eleven Months Old!
We've been battling major bugs in the last two months, so even though I did take Carol's 10 month picture on time, I never posted it! So here is 10 and 11 months!
So in the last two months...
....you have had two more ear infections, two cases of strep, and RSV. Needless to say, it's been a rough period of time! You seem to be on the mend now, and you have an appointment to get ear tubes (yay!!).
...right when you turned 10 months, we employed the "cry it out method" to try and get you sleeping through the night. We put you to sleep in the pack-n-play in the living room one night. You cried for about 30 minutes that first night, but put yourself back to sleep....and you haven't cried since! It only took that one night! Yay!!! You now sleep 7-6 pretty regularly, only occasionally waking up a little earlier or a little later.
...around 10 months you were really cruising around the furniture, and it would just make your day when you took someone's finger to walk around. You just thought you were hot stuff!! Then, you started taking one step, and finally on the day you turned 11 months old you took several steps in succession to your Aunt Ronna! (and it has been non-stop since then!)
...you love to put stuff in your mouth! :) Especially your sister's Barbies. They must taste exceptionally good.
...you weigh over 20 pounds now! This is pretty amazing considering that your sister didn't weigh that much until 18 months old!
...you have made the transition to 12 month clothes! You have a very cute pudgy belly and legs, although I assume you will start to lose that now that you are a walking machine!
...your hair has finally started to grow a little bit! You have a few wisps on the back of your head...still not much on top, though! You play with it sometimes when it bothers your ears!
...you love to eat (when you feel good, that is!) You will often eat 2 tubs of food at a time....blended fruits and cereal are your favorite, along with anything with sweet potatoes.
...you are such a joy....living up to your middle name. You laugh constantly, especially at Emma. You have some sounds that you make consistently...namely "Ah-Da" and "Ah-Doh". You love to blow kisses "muuuah", and will wave bye-bye. You also love to play peek-a-boo!
...as I was reminded the other day that your big sister was having her 4th heart surgery at this time in her life, I am so thankful for your healthy life (even with all the strep and ear infections!). You bless our lives so much, and we can't imagine our family without you!

Dancing in PreK!
One day last week when picking up Emma from school, she and her classmates (and some older siblings!) were having fun, dancing and singing to one of the praise songs they often do in class. Enjoy!! (My phone only takes video for a minute at a time, so there's two videos in succession)\
