We took a quick 3-day trip down to Houston (or being specific, Tomball) to visit my brother, Em, his wife Jennifer, and all of their horses, dogs and cats! We left on July 7 and celebrated Emma's 5th birthday on Saturday, July 9 before driving back home that evening. One of the highlights of the trip was going down to Galveston beach on Friday with both Em and Jennifer. We had a blast!!
On the way down to Houston, we stopped for ice cream and Carol loved it!
Thursday evening, we celebrated both Emma's birthday and Jennifer's mom, Marilyn's birthday!
Off to the beach!!
The girls played at first in the sand while the adults set up camp...complete with a HUGE SPF 50 tent and umbrella my brother had bought for the occasion and many more to come!
How many Aggies does it take to screw in a beach umbrella? Only one as long as he has a Commodore brother-in-law to figure it out! ;)
Napping peacefully in the SPF 50 tent!!
Camp for the day!
Of course, you have to bury people in the sand (or mud, in Galveston's case)!
Carol helped by watering her daddy!
Then it was Emma's turn!
Ew!
On Saturday morning, Emma and I first helped Uncle Em feed the horses before breakfast!
then we headed inside for a birthday breakfast!
Then we headed back outside to ride some horses!
While Emma had a good time, Carol was just yearning desperately to ride with her. So when we put her on with Emma, she just immediately smiled and laughed. This girl has no fear it seems like! Here also are some videos of both girls riding (you can hear Carol laughing) and getting Carol off the horse (which she did NOT want to do!)
After heading up I45, we stopped at a soda shop in Mansfield for food and ice cream!

Looks fun! Your girls are so cute. I just heard Brock and Carol will get to be buddies at Angie's house! Carol will have to show him the ropes.
